Covid-19 Announcement

We are well aware of the current Covid-19 outbreak which creates significant uncertainty for the next few months. Yet we have little visibility regarding the end of the pandemic, and having in mind that safety is our highest interest, we will soon make further announcements regarding the practical organization of RelStat-2020.

However we would like to assure everyone that RelStat-2020 will indeed take place as planned. Thus, accepted papers will be published in the proceedings and, after presentation, they will be submitted to Springer series as usual.

With respect to health and safety constraints in the different geographical areas, we will provide all means for remote presentations for authors who are unable to travel. In case RelStat-2020 cannot be held on site in the beautiful town of Riga, a fully virtual web-based event will be set in due time, as for current conferences.

We look forward to receiving your contributions as usual and we will make sure that RelStat-2020 will be another memorable and rewarding conference.

We will continue to monitor the situation, keeping flexible to consider adequate options to confront the new situations that may arise.

The Young Researchers’ Poster Session (YRPS) is an exciting within-conference event that provides an opportunity for young researchers (BSc, MSc, and PhD students) to present their research work in the RelStat conference-related areas to a wider community from academia and industry.

YRPS is designed as a place for promoting research topics in a friendly, supportive atmosphere, receiving extensive feedback from senior researchers, and extensive scientific networking.

        YRPS participation requirements:

        • At least two co-authors (e.g. young researcher + supervisor),
        • The corresponding and presenting author should be a BSc, MSc, and PhD student,
        • At least one of co-authors should have a doctoral degree or an equivalent.

Research teams are invited to prepare extended abstracts (3 pages), which will be reviewed by RelStat PC members. The abstracts should be structured and include sections for topic State-of the-art, Research Objectives, Methodology, Results, and Conclusions. The research Contribution should be clearly stated but not exaggerated. For abstract submission please follow the regular RelStat abstract submission process and state “Submitted to Young Researchers’ Poster Session” at the end of the abstracts.

Accepted abstracts will be invited for poster presentation during the conference.

Riga is the capital of the Republic of Latvia. Thanks to its geographical location, Riga has wonderful trade, cultural and tourist facilities. Whilst able to offer all the benefits of a modern city, Riga has preserved its historical charm. It’s especially famous for its medieval part – Old Riga.

Old Riga still preserves many mute witnesses of bygone times. Its old narrow streets, historical monuments, organ music at one of the oldest organ halls in Europe attract guests of our city. In 1998 Old Riga was included into the UNESCO list of world cultural heritage.
